 Harderwijk Vrijdag 30 april: Koninginnedag 2010 verzamelde vanaf 11 uur op de Weiburglaan de muzikale troepen voor een ‘Battle tour’. Vanuit de historische buurt het Nachthok startte om 13.54 een vijftal internationale muziekbands naar de binnenstad van de voormalige Garnizoensstad. Waar zij op de Stille Wei een show gaven voor de promotie van de ‘The Voorthuizen Militairy Tattoo’. De bands brachten vanuit Oman, Canada en Polen als eerste een bezoek aan Harderwijk. Voor de bewoners van de buurt was het een aangename verrassing, tijdens de door regen getergde Oranje feestdag. Zij kregen de unieke kans om van dichtbij de voorbereidingen mee te maken voor de muzikale aanval op Harderwijk.

De vijf bands zijn de komende dagen druk in Nederland om tijdens de verschillende ‘Memorials’ hun muziek ten gehore te brengen. Rondom 4 en 5 mei zijn er door het gehele land meerdere parades en Taptoes, waaronder de Voorthuizen Militairy Tattoo dat op 7,8 en 9 mei 2010 shows geeft. Dat dit jaar het thema heeft meegekregen ‘Tribute to the Veterans’

Op 7,8 en 9 mei 2010 treden op in Voorthuizen
De Taptoe Voorthuizen is opgenomen in het officiële programma van Thank you Canada & Allied Forces, om de bevrijding te vieren en te herdenken. Het programma is erop gericht Amerikaanse, Britse, Canadese en Nederlandse veteranen het eerbetoon te geven die ze verdienen. ‘Tribute to the Veterans’ is dan ook het thema van de taptoe.
